Corporate Vision

roadIn 2007, Volkswagen Group of America announced a new strategic direction. One rooted in bringing Volkswagen closer to its customers and increasing its competitiveness. The ultimate goal of this new direction is to triple U.S. sales to 800,000 vehicles by 2018.

The strategy is based on five pillars: product, brand positioning, dealer network, organization and local production.

The decision to produce vehicles in the U.S. is a tangible and significant step forward to meet this goal. The new facility will build cars especially designed for the North American market — giving it the ability to be more responsive to consumer needs and wants.
