Volkswagen opinion barometer with very good participation
- 90 percent of employees in 27 countries gave their opinions
- Board member for Human Resources Dr. Neumann: Now the results talks are most important
Wolfsburg — 90 percent of the employees surveyed took part in the Volkswagen opinion barometer, the Group-wide employee survey, this ear. This is the highest participation figure to date. The rate last year was 89 percent, while 78 percent of the employees invited to participate in he first opinion barometer back in 2008 already gave their opinions.
Commenting on the latest survey, the Board member of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft responsible for Human Resources, Dr. Horst Neumann, said: "Through their high participation level, the employees have laid a firm foundation for the upcoming results talks. Now, we will need to explain the results within the teams, identify any problems and develop improvements where this is necessary."
Bernd Osterloh, Chairman of the Group Works Council, appealed to managers to hold the results talks with employees consistently. "The opinion barometer is a great tool. As part of the process, the results need to be discussed intensively and the criticisms voiced by employees need to be remedied. Together with the Board member for Human Resources, the Works Council will make sure that this procedure is followed."
Over 360,000 Volkswagen employees in 27 countries were invited to take part in the fifth opinion barometer in April and May. Porsche Holding Salzburg, Volkswagen Osnabrück and Volkswagen Group Japan participated for the first time. Employees' interest in the survey has grown steadily over the past years.
Under the survey, which is anonymous, employees gave their responses to questions in the categories of information and communication, quality and working organization, collaboration, job satisfaction and results talks following the previous year's survey. To highlight and draw on developments, the survey included eleven questions, as in previous years. Employees at the German plants, which have participated in the survey since 2008, were also asked a twelfth question on the implementation of corporate strategy.Volkswagen Group Communications
