Volkswagen Showcases Personalization, Performance and Power at 2008 SEMA Show

LAS VEGAS — For the 2008 SEMA show Volkswagen of America, Inc. brings a race-car and its performance Jetta TDI sibling, two exciting versions of the all-new CC and a hot performance Tiguan that blows away the competition; all to illustrate how their growing line-up can be transformed into unique high-performance, one-of-a-kind vehicles.

2009 Jetta TDI Cup Car
The inaugural season of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup saw thrilling racing and a down to the wire finish at the last race of the season with Josh Hurley, Cooper City, Fla., ultimately winning the championship. The Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup series is an innovative approach to motorsports – 30 factory-prepared and managed 2009 clean-diesel Jetta TDIs are piloted by talented, up-and-coming drivers, aged 16 to 26. Volkswagen's goal is to find the driver with the most talent and help them break into the world of professional motorsports. Visit www.vw.com to receive more information, or to register for the 2009 Jetta TDI Cup season.

2009 Jetta TDI Cup "Street" Edition Concept
Based on the Jetta TDI Cup race car the TDI Cup "Street" Edition is powered by the 2.0L Clean Diesel TDI, delivering 140 horsepower and 236 ft.-lbs. of torque and brings race car styling and on-track dynamics to the people.

CC "Gold Coast" Edition Concept
The Volkswagen CC Gold Coast highlights the powerful performance, strong lines and luxury touches of the new sports coupe from Volkswagen. With additional high end touches including tri-coat paint, upgraded interior appointments and a stylish ground effects kit Volkswagen's newest coupe shows its luxury side.

Tiguan Performance Concept
Stylish, powerful and rockin' are three words that describe the Tiguan Performance. An upgraded exterior body kit, a three-stage turbo kit ringing out 312 hp and 319 lbs. ft of torque and a custom designed and built sound system from Rockford Fosgate leave this Tiguan looking great, driving great and sounding great.

Volkswagen of America, Inc.
Volkswagen of America, Inc. recently announced Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard equipment on all its 2009 vehicles. As a result, Volkswagen is one of the only original equipment manufacturers to offer an electronic stability control system on their entire product line – ahead of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) deadline requiring vehicles in the 2012 model year to include stability control systems. Volkswagen's ESP technology works in conjunction with anti-lock brakes and helps reduce loss of control.
