Volkswagen Academy Enhances Mechatronic Programs to Associate Degree
Volkswagen Chattanooga announced today that the three-year Automation Mechatronics Program (AMP) and Car Mechatronic Program (CMP) offered in its Volkswagen Academy will be upgraded from a technical diploma to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Mechatronics Engineering Technology. The degree is offered through Volkswagen’s on-going partnership with Chattanooga State Community College.

EPA Recognizes Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations, LLC Among Nation’s Leading Green Power Users
Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations, LLC announced today that for the first time it appears as No. 11 on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA's) Top 20 On-site list of the largest green power purchasers. Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations, LLC hosts an on-site solar array, where more than 13 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power annually are generated, which is enough green power to meet 12 percent of the organization's electricity use. The Volkswagen Chattanooga Solar Park is the biggest solar installation at any U.S. auto factory.

Volkswagen Chattanooga Powers Up Largest Solar Park in Tennessee
Volkswagen today “powered up” the largest single solar installation at an automotive manufacturing facility in the United States and the biggest solar installation in the state of Tennessee. At a dedication ceremony here, dignitaries today flipped a giant light switch to signal the official opening of the “Volkswagen Chattanooga Solar Park”, built on Volkswagen’s compound in Chattanooga.

The Chattanooga, Tennessee-built Volkswagen Passat has earned yet another distinct recognition during this, its first year on sale. In addition to being awarded top-rated premium mid-size car in the Autobytel and AutoPacific 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, the Passat was also recognized as the Most Ideal Premium Mid-Size Car for 2012 as part of AutoPacific’s New Vehicle Satisfaction Survey. Additionally, owner respondents voted the Golf hatch as the Most Ideal Compact Car.

Volkswagen Chattanooga Builds 100,000TH Car
